Japanese electronics maker
Panasonic has suspended some of its operations in China after anti-Japan
protesters attacked two of its factories. The firm said its factory in Qingdao
will remain shut until 18 September. According to media reports, Canon has also
suspended operations at three of its Chinese factories.

Noda has said. Anti-Japanese protests spread to cities across China on Saturday
in an escalating row over disputed islands in the East China Sea. On Sunday,
hundreds of protesters faced off against riot police at the Japanese embassy in
Beijing.

its control of disputed islands swelled across more than a dozen cities in China
and at times turned violent Saturday, with protesters hurling rocks at the
Japanese Embassy and clashing with Chinese paramilitary police before order was
restored. Thousands of protesters gathered in front of the embassy in Beijing.
