Is Bernie Sanders Controlled Opposition?
The moment of the debate when Bernie Sanders got the most raucous applause was not when he talked about free college, free childcare, or breaking up the banks. It was when Bernie Sanders defended Hillary Clinton from her most damaging scandal that both their fans heaped praise upon him. Sanders no less than diffused a bomb for Clinton and he gained nothing from it but praise from the establishment.
That’s rather unfortunate for Bernie. People won’t remember his lines about any of the important issues but rather his politically expedient defense of a scandal that has lead to a serious trust issue with a corrupt public official. That’s the opposite of why Sanders has said he’s in the race. He’s claimed that he wants to talk about the issues but that was put to the wayside when he defended Clinton from her most pressing issue.
