Another earthquake: New 4.9 tremor near Fukushima
A 4.9 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter close to Fukushima Prefecture has struck the eastern coast of Japan, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
Officials tell news that a 3.0 magnitude Southern California earthquake today began just after 2:29 PM PST. The quake had virtually no depth. USGS indicates to news that the quake started four miles below ground level. As a result the quake could be felt across the immediate area.
USGS: 2 earthquakes strike near Oklahoma City
The U.S. Geological Survey says a 3.9 magnitude quake was recorded at about 10 p.m. Monday near Jones. The USGS says the earthquake’s epicenter was located three miles west-northwest of Jones and eight miles east-southeast of Edmond. A second earthquake was recorded at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday near Spencer. The USGS says the earthquake had a magnitude of 3.2 and was centered four miles northwest of Spencer and eight miles north-northeast of Oklahoma City.
North Texas has had another minor earthquake. The U.S. Geological Survey says the 2.6 magnitude earthquake hit at 9:32 p.m. CST Tuesday and was centered a mile east-southeast of Reno, in Parker County. The area is about 20 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Moderate five-magnitude earthquake strikes eastern Pakistan
A moderate five magnitude earthquake struck eastern Pakistan Wednesday, with tremors felt in several cities, but officials said there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. The quake was felt in several eastern cities including Lahore, Kasur, Okara and Sialkot, he said.
Typhoon Haiyan gaining strength, heading towards Philippines
Typhoon Haiyan is intensifying as it continues to move across the northern Pacific, packing winds of up to 240 kilometres per hour. Forecaster Michael Ziobrol, from the US National Weather Service, says the typhoon is expected to affect parts of Micronesia later on Wednesday.
