Obama got 10 million fewer votes than 2008

Romney got 3 million fewer votes than McCain in 2008

Of course votes are still being counted and final results will not firm up for a couple of weeks yet.

It was said that it was Romney’s election to loose.  Basically, the last several major Republican losses, Bob Dole, John McCain, and Mitt Romney, were because conservatives were looking for “The Gipper” but the party establishment keeps giving up “The Flipper”.
