New York tramples individual rights and religious freedom in push to mandatory vaccinations

The New York state Capitol erupted in chaos Thursday as both legislative houses passed a bill ending religious exemptions from vaccine requirements in New York. Gov. Cuomo signed the bill into law just hours later.

The bill’s sponsor, state Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, remained stoic as opponents of the legislation passionately expressed their concerns. Many opponents were in the gallery, along with their children, and were visibly upset and devasted by the outcome.

It is difficult to remain calm when your rights are being taken away.
