New Zealand earthquakes may have weakened earth’s crust according to researchers
Scientists have found that the earthquakes which struck New Zealand between 2010 and 2011 could have had an impact on the earth’s crust. The series of quakes released abnormally high levels of energy compared to others. New Zealand is located in the ring of fire, a 40,000 kilometre horseshoe shaped area where roughly 90 per cent of the world’s earthquakes hit.
